| Loro Ciuffenna is approximately 30 km from Arezzo and 40 Km from Florence. This beautiful medieval village can be reached through the Autostrada del Sole (A1), taking the Valdarno exit, and then continuing in direction of Terranuova Bracciolini. Past Terranuova, are 6 km more before reach Loro Ciuffenna. | |||

The village is situated on the slopes of the Pratomagno mountain at 328 amsl, the historical center is of medieval origin but Loro Ciuffenna has origins much more ancient,in fact in the zone has been found Etruscan and Roman finds, during the first roman period, the lorese territory was crossed from the Cassia Vetus (the route is today much similar to that of the road of the Seven Bridges) that connected Fiesole to Arezzo. In the 123 aD such road was replaced from the new Cassia Adrianea that by-passed Loro Ciuffenna. After the roman period, the zone was occupied from the Longobards, is of the 939 the first mention in a document of the name Loro, it was then feud of Conti Guidi and in the 1293 it was part of the Florence Republic. In 1462 the first statutes of the community were already written. |

Loro Ciuffenna still conserve the older working flour water mill of the Tuscany. Much scenographical is the old village constructed on overhanging gorges on the river and where it's possible to admire an evocative interlacing of streets and alleys paved in stone. Are worth a visit the Church of Santa Maria Assunta that conserve a triptych of Lorenzo di Bicci, the Museum of Venturino Venturi, where are collections works of contemporary artists. |
