Florence |
We arrive now to the Sala dell'Udienza (Audience Hall or Chamber) that was the Hall of Justice. This Hall has a wonderful lacunar ceiling covered of gold, work of Giuliano da Maiano (15th century).
The room was decorated between 1543 and 1548 from Francesco de’ Rossi said il Salviati, with frescoes that represent the History of Furio Camillo. |

Between the scenes are present the Conquest of Veio, the Punishment of Master of Falerii, Camillo that defeats the Volsci, but the main scene is the Triumph of Camillo. The scope of these frescoes is the exaltation of Cosimo new Furio Camillo, accumunate with these last from the objective of conquest of the Etruria and from the defense of Italy from the French (Gauls). The Hall is connected through a door to the Cappella dei Priori. From the Sala dell'Udienza is approached the Sala dei Gigli through a beautiful marble doorway, work of Benedetto and Giuliano da Maiano and a precious tarsia carved from Francesco di Giovanni, in 15th century.
The visit of the rooms on the second floor of the Monumental Quarters continues, especially now we visit the Hall of the Lilies (Sala dei Gigli). |
