PISA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT "GALILEO GALILEI"

The Pisa international airport "Galileo Galilei" is the most important airport in Tuscany, it's located just 2 km south-east of the center of the city of Pisa.

The airport of Pisa has an Arrivals Terminal and a Departures Terminal, the structure is open to the public daily from 4.00 hours until the arrival/departure of the last flight of the day. Pisa is connected with major cities in Europe and from June 2007 with New York.

GETTING THERE:

CAR: Pisa Airport has direct access to the highway Florence-Pisa (exit Pisa Centro-Airport), the highway A12 Genova-Rosignano (exit Pisa Centro), the highway A11 Firenze-Pisa Nord (through the road junction of Pisa Nord with the A12) and SS1 Aurelia. The city of Florence is only 85 Km from Pisa to reach it from the airport just take the highway (SGC) Florence-Pisa-Livorno or the A11 Florence-Pisa, both directly connected with the airport.

The airport is within short distance from all major towns of Tuscany: Livorno (24 km), Lucca (36 km), Massa (56 km), Carrara (60 km), Montecatini (62 km), Pistoia (78 km), Florence (85 km), Prato (88 km), Siena (117 km), Arezzo (155 km), Grosseto (157 km). 

TRAIN: The train arrives directly inside the airport, the train station it is less than 40 meters from the departure terminal of the airport, to reach it there is a covered walkway. A service of trains connecting every day the airport with Pisa Centrale railway station and the city of Firenze (Santa Maria Novella Florence station). The train tickets can be purchased at the Information Office in the Arrivals Hall.

Rail links with Pisa: The Pisa airport is connected every 30 minutes directly to Pisa Central Station (25 trips daily). From Pisa Centrale, through numerous connections, is possible to reach any other desired destination in Italy, including Florence.

Rates: The cost of a ticket Pisa Airport - Pisa Centrale is EUR 1.10.

Rail links with Florence: The Pisa airport and the city of Florence (Santa Maria Novella Florence train station) are connected by six trips a day (4 journey on Sundays and holidays) that stop in Pisa Centrale, Pontedera and Empoli, the travel time is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Others trains to Florence start from Pisa Centrale station.

BUSES: The terminus station is just outside the Arrivals Terminal.

Bus links with Pisa: The Compagnia Pisana Trasporti CPT every 10 minutes connects the airport with the center of Pisa, the journey time is 5 minutes.

Rates: The ticket costs EUR 0.95 and is valid for one hour on the entire urban network, can be purchased at the Information Office, inside the airport or at the automatic machine which is located at the terminus' bus.

Bus links with Florence: The Compagnia di pullman Gran Turismo Terravision, connected in 1 hour and 10 minutes Pisa Airport with the city of Florence with 13 trips per day.

Rates: The bus tickets Airport Pisa - Firenze SMN costs: € 10.00 one way (adults), € 4.00 one way (children 5-12 years), € 16.00 return (adults), € 8 00 return (children 5-12 years). Tickets can be purchased at the information office (Arrivals Terminal).

Bus links with Livorno: Azienda Trasporti Livornese ATL connects Pisa airport with Livorno, with 12 trips a day, but only on weekdays.

Bus links with Siena: Train S.p.a. connect with bus coaches, with 2 trips per day, the Pisa airport with Siena, with stops also in Poggibonsi the journey time is about 2 hours.

Bus links with Lucca: The Autolinee F.lli Lazzi - VAI BUS linking Pisa airport with Lucca (Length: 1 hour), Viareggio (Length: 1 hour) and Pietrasanta (Length: 1 hour and 30 minutes).

TAXI: CO.TA.PI. (Cooperativa Pisana Tassisti) manages the Taxi, taxi station is located opposite the airport, Arrivals Terminal. The Radio Taxi service is operational all day, at number 050 541600.

Rates: The average cost of a trip to Pisa city ranges from € 5.70 to € 8.00 (in public holidays the race is subject to additional holiday fare of € 2.30).

TAXI SHUTTLE: CO.TA.PI. (Cooperativa Pisana Tassisti) manages the new service "Taxi Shuttle" from Pisa Airport to hotel in the city of Pisa and in the Pisa coast. The service is activated in the presence of at least three passengers, even with different destinations.

RENTAL CAR: The Terminal devoted to car rental companies is directly connected by a shuttle bus service. The terminus of the shuttle bus service is just outside the Arrivals Terminal.

PARKING:

The parking lots for a total of 1850 parking spaces are open daily 24 hours over 24 and are divided into five major areas: a short stay parking (P3), a multilevel parking (P2), two parking spaces for long stay (P1 and P4 (parking seasonal)) and an eastern area dedicated to coach Bus (P5).

The parking must be paid before you withdraw your car. The car parks (P1, P2, P3 and P4) are free for people with disabilities. Payments can be made to the Cash Parking spaces outside the airport, Departure Terminal, open from 07:30 to 24:00 or at cash machines (with return of the rest). 

Short Stay Parking (P3)

The Short Stay parking is in front of the Departures Terminal.

Multi Level Parking (P2)

The Multi Level Parking is next to the rail terminal, Departures Terminal side of the airport. The parking at the multilevel parking is free for the first 30 minutes.
