Castelnuovo was the last castle in the area founded by the Republic of Siena, it was built in 1366, of the old castle today there are only a few remains of the tower and walls. The village is divided into a high area, the Castle, and in a low area, the Borgo.
Among the things to see in the village: the civic clock tower, from eighteenth-century characters, which originally was part of the system of fortifications; the nineteenth-century Villa Chigi Saracini with its park and the Chapel of San Giovanni; the churches of the nineteenth century SS. Giusto and Clemente and della Compagnia; the Tabernacle of the sixteenth century on the place of the discovery of the image of Maria SS. of Advocacy.
