| The Church or Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Biagio is found at the slopes of the hill of Montepulciano, in bottom to a tree-lined avenue flanked from cypresses, it was built from Antonio da Sangallo the Old between 1518 and 1545 and represents a masterpiece of 16th century Tuscan art. The origin of the church is tied to a miraculous fact happened on 23 April 1518, when two women and a shepherd, passing in front to a fresco representing the Madonna with the Child and San Francesco, saw that the eyes of the Virgin moved like if she were alive. The church, is Greek cross with a dome in the center and a semicircular apse, it has two bell towers and it's in travertine. The interior in baroque style is frescoed, has a beautiful greater altar of 1584 with marble dossale with four statues of Saints, work of Ottaviano Lazzerini, over to the altar it is a stained glass-window with a Madonna and Saints work of Michelangelo da Cortona.
